In the previous post we shared seven key thematic trends for next winter. Other than that, there are some items that look hot for next winter, for example high slit skirt and jewel-decorated clothing. The latter, strongly advocated by Miuccia and Marc in this season, looks incredibly promising. Mashing up texture and pattern have been in the trend for a while; in London, the city of print, some young labels get inspired by the trend and make collages of fabric prints. Sketching, clipping, snapping or placing things around the fabric as if it is a scrapbook of the world-class collage artist. For colour, championed by the gothic trend, black is the colour of the season. The complete darkness makes the secondary colours – gold, orange, red – shine through.
