FW2013 Ready to Wear Runway Trends Report Part I

Even though black is the absolute colour for Autumn/Winter, the consequence along black in

each seasons are different. You might have seen different implications of black and grey through

several shows from the 4 major cities runways. Including multicolour of green, which is not

simply brings just one or two shades in a total look.

Green  is not only green colour anymore.

In fact, if you look back for decades, it would have been so difficult to find a place for green in fashion.

Anyway, all green stories are twisted from nature aspects to the more bizarre environment around us.

It presents how much people are calling for nature … next nature… You will see kaleidoscopic of green

instead of  leaf green. Mint , aqua, khaki and bluish tone are spoken green as well.

While many colours voices out for green, GREY seems the only colour that speaks for its own sake.

Cement grey in this season is representing forms, shaping and constructing

just like what cement can functions as material.

Menswear is still be the ongoing trend for womenswear. Perhaps, it would be never disappeared in

the close future.Various collections such as Haider Ackermann, Band of outsider, Kenzo , Chalayan ,

Proenza Schouler and many more have chosen menswear to send their messages. The most significant

item  is Cloak, with a feeling of outlandish traveler has not yet disappear from fashion.

Cloak also speaks protection as well as Cocoon Silhouette which fluently appears in women’s  jackets.

Building the new strong silhouette lines for women whilst hiding the her body and true skin inside.

Fashion used to be expression while clothing is about protection.

Today, fashion is protection…protect us from fearfulness , hiding our weakness.

The last key trend that I couldn’t deny to talk about is Religion trend. Even though there’s not many

brands who actually pulled off this trend. However, here are some examples from Alexander McQueen,

Dolce&Gabbana and Fausto Puglisi whom I think they have excellently turned  belief to fashion.

It is the new age of Religion called ‘Fashion’

If you are looking for something to trust, trust in fashion.
